1. Why does ProPresta IT eliminate external cloud connectivity?
Most consumer Smart Home systems transmit telemetry to external servers, introducing latency, data leak risks, and recurring subscription costs. In our solution, all analytics and decision rules run locally on the Xtensa LX7 cores. The absence of an external Internet (WAN) connection does not impact installation control continuity.
2. What happens if local Wi-Fi fails or the HMI terminal freezes?
The Waveshare 6CH actuator module features its own microcontroller running an autonomous FreeRTOS task. If the module does not receive an encrypted Heartbeat packet within the defined timeout window, the Fail-Safe procedure triggers – circuits immediately revert to their safe rest state.
3. Does the system support integration with SCADA / Home Assistant?
Yes. The software is built on clean C/C++ under the ESP-IDF framework. The terminal and actuator nodes enable parallel integration via RS485 (Modbus RTU) as well as local binary communication.
4. How is wireless communication protected against replay attacks?
Every UDP control packet sent over port 8888 is encrypted using AES-128-GCM with ESP32-S3 hardware cryptographic acceleration. The frame contains a monotonically increasing sequence counter and a 16-byte authentication tag – intercepted packets replayed on the network are immediately rejected.
